Groups, Workshops, and Consulting Services

As part of my private practice, I run supportive therapy groups for people struggling with chronic illness. These groups may be organized around a specific illness (e.g. Type 1 diabetes), or comprised of individuals with different chronic illnesses.

I also offer workshops, training, and consultation to organizations, college counseling and health services, schools, hospitals and clinics. Clients have included: Barnard College Furman Counseling Center; The Young Women’s Leadership Network; City University of New York; Center for Health Equity/NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene; Visiting Nurse Services of NYC; Naomi Berry Diabetes Center.  Contact me to discuss scheduling and fees.

Topics include:

  •  Emotional challenges of living with chronic illness (note: can be targeted to specific illnesses and clinical populations)
  •  Support and mental healthcare for college students managing chronic illnesses on campus
  •  Using “motivational interviewing” to help people change health behaviors
  •  A psychodynamic approach to understanding life with chronic illness, and supporting self-care
